Good Omens Book Review

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

1990

Fantasy, humor fiction

What a book! I can’t say I’ve read any other quite like it. The concept of an angel and a demon working together to save the world is such a unique concept. I now understand why Good Omens is known as a cult classic.

The book follows Angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley as they try to stop the apocalypse. Though this duo are technically the main characters, Good Omens has a large cast that all play an important role and make the book a standout. If you want a novel with a child antichrist, witch hunters, prophecies, biker horsemen, a dog named Dog and a heck of a lot of irony, the Good Omens is for you.

My only recommendation is to savor the novel if you can. It took me around two months to read Good Omens not because it’s overly long, but because there’s a lot to enjoy and think about.

Rating 4.5/5: Good Omens is genuinely hilarious and is a trip back in time to the nineties.
